Refunds

Last updated: 19 September 2026

Payments made through BMA Pay are not refundable, except in extraordinary circumstances. Whether to give a refund is decided by the school alone, at its sole discretion. Your statutory rights are not affected.

What this means

  • When you pay for an event, trip, club place or shop item, the school commits money to it straight away, for example transport, bookings, staffing and stock. This is why refunds are not given as a matter of course.
  • Not being able to attend, changing your mind, or a change in your family's plans are not, by themselves, extraordinary circumstances.
  • The school decides what counts as extraordinary, and looks at each request on its own facts. Its decision is final. A refund given once does not mean one will be given again.
  • If the school gives a refund, it may be for less than the full amount, for example where some costs cannot be recovered.

When the school cancels

If the school cancels an event, trip, club or item that you paid for, and does not offer an alternative, you will receive a refund of the amount you paid for it.

Duplicate or mistaken payments

If you were charged twice or by mistake, contact us with the order details and we will refund the extra payment.

Asking for a refund

Use our contact page as soon as you can. Include the student's name, what you bought, the date of payment and a clear explanation of the circumstances. Asking does not mean a refund will be given.

How refunds are paid

Approved refunds go back to the original card used for the payment. They normally reach your account within 5 to 10 working days of approval, depending on your bank.
